Ternium to donate 30,000 more COVID-19 tests to Rio de Janeiro's City Hall

Share

Ternium has agreed to deliver a new batch of 30,000 rapid antigen tests to detect COVID-19 to Rio de Janeiro’s City Hall, with a total investment of R$ 1.5 million. Of these tests, 10,000 were delivered on Wednesday, April 7. By the end of April, there will be 20,000 more. This is the second donation made by Ternium to the City Hall since the beginning of February, when a batch of 10,000 tests was made available.

The donation is the result of a partnership between Ternium Brazil and Rio de Janeiro’s City Hall. The tests will aid healthcare units in detecting new cases of COVID-19. Tests quickly show whether a person has the disease and whether they are transmitting it or not. Therefore, it is also possible for a healthcare team to trace the contacts of an infected person, thus helping contain the virus infection.

"In this way, Ternium is making a total of 40,000 COVID-19 tests available to the City Hall to help fight against the pandemic. In addition, we are remodeling a family clinic in Santa Cruz, which plays an important role in the vaccination process," said Fernanda Candeias, Ternium Community Relations Manager.
