Academic Merit Award 2021

Share

Ternium Shreveport held their sixth Annual Academic Merit Award to congratulate and award four high school students by recognizing their dedication and academic achievements.

Ternium has shown its commitment in supporting and helping people by presenting these outstanding high school students with the Academic Merit Award, which will help them advance with their studies.

These scholarships were awarded based on academic performance, attendance and commitment to the educational process. Outstanding high school seniors that met a GPA eligibility requirement, verified attendance requirement and no discipline infractions were eligible to apply for the monetary award.  Students submitted an essay as well as verification of enrollment in a post-secondary school or university.

These were the students recognized this year:

  1. Guillermo Montoya
  2. Cameron Bradford
  3. Mia Elias
  4. Embeth Coyle

In order to apply for this award, the students needed to have at least a 2.5 GPA (4.0 scale), be highly involved with their school and submit and essay where they talked about a significant experience, achievement, risk they have taken or an ethical dilemma they have faced.

Bianca Rachlin, HR Analyst said, “The graduation students are appreciative of the award from Ternium. They are all ready and excited to start college in the fall!”
