Artificial Ventilators reinforce hospitals in Nuevo Leon

Share

The Social Security Institute #67 Hospital (IMSS 67, by its initials in Spanish), located at the city limits of Apodaca and Pesqueria, received these ventilators to fight Covid-19.

To support the health staff battle against the coronavirus pandemic in Nuevo Leon, Mexico, the company donated three ventilators to the Social Security #67 Hospital (IMSS 67), located in the city limits of Apodaca and Pesqueria.

In a brief ceremony, Cesar Jimenez, CEO of Ternium Mexico, led the donation of these ventilators.

“We will always be deeply grateful towards all health professionals, who save lives in Nuevo Leon and Mexico,” expressed Jimenez.

Graciano de la Fuente, general director of IMSS 67, was present at the donation ceremony; Jose Garza Garza, Health Secretary of Apodaca; Beatriz Maldonado —representing Karla Lopez, IMSS Nuevo Leon´s delegate— and Miguel Angel Lozano, mayor of Pesqueria.

In addition to the ventilators, Ternium donated a biosecurity kit to the delegation of IMSS Nuevo León. This organization will distribute the medical protection gear to several hospitals around the state.

The kit is integrated by 3,000 protective suits, 2,000 N95 face masks, 3,000 disposable face masks, 3,000 safety coverall suits, 3,000 latex gloves, 3,000 pairs of boots, 500 protective goggles, 1,000 nose-pharyngeal swabs, 300 protective face shields and 300 liters of antibacterial gel.

On behalf of the medical staff, of all employees and patients, we would like to thank Ternium for these donations, we know the gear will support the life of many patients,” remarked Beatriz Maldonado, representing IMSS Nuevo Leon´s delegation.

These donations were added to the biosecurity kit that Ternium handed out to IMSS 67 last May.

"It is to be recognized Ternium's solidarity towards Pesqueria,” said Miguel Angel Lozano, mayor of the city. “We have always recognized them —the governor as well as myself— as an example of Nuevo Leon´s industry, we would only hope for all companies to be so sensitive when helping out.”

The company also handed out kits and ventilators to hospitals and clinics of Puebla, Colima, Michoacan, and Jalisco. Besides, a Community Hospital in San Nicolas de los Garza was built to serve patients suffering from coronavirus, with a 100-bed capacity and ten beds more, especially for intensive care purposes.
