Mexico: Ternium Donates 280 Computers to Support E-Learning

Ternium donated 280 computers to 15 schools from Nuevo León, Colima and Puebla through the Fondos Reactivos program to support e-learning due to the health contingency.

Last December 4th, the first 40 computers were given to the School of Scientific and Technological Studies of the State of Nuevo Leon (CECyTe, for its acronym in Spanish) during a ceremonious event, in which the Head of Human Resources, Manuel Héctor Martínez and the CECyTe Principal, Carlos Ruben Carrizales, participated.

"We want to support education by donating this equipment to the students to complete their remote education", said Manuel Héctor during the event. All participants followed the preventive measures to confront COVID-19, such as keeping a healthy distance and wearing masks.

On the other hand, donations in educational institutions from San Miguel Xoxtla, Puebla started on December 7th.

On December 10th, the company donated five computers to the Telesecundaria Emiliano Zapata during an event hosted by the Manager of the Largos Puebla plant of Ternium Mexico, Juan Carlos Rodrigues.

"With this donation, we support the technical and academic education of students from an early age to encourage them to keep studying and improving the country's quality of education. We transform COVID-19 disadvantages into progress and educational continuity", he said.

The rest of the computers will be given to the communities of Colima and the municipalities of Apodaca, El Carmen, San Nicolás de los Garza, Monterrey, Santiago and Santa Catarina in Nuevo León.

The Manager of the Largos Puebla plant, Juan Carlos Rodrigues, hosted the ceremonious event to give the computers to the Telesecundaria Emiliano Zapata in San Miguel Xoxtla.
