Crane Operator Certification: a virtual reality training

Share

All Ternium crane operators from the Raw Material and Steel Department, in General Savio Plant, and from the Annealing and Temper Department, in Ensenada Plant, completed the crane operator certification.

The training took place at the Ternium University, and it contemplated 7 instances for virtual and on-site learning for crane operators, including a VR simulation that recreates the most similar environment to the plant’s floor.

“I have never been in a simulator. It is innovative and encouraging. It was real, you were on the crane,” Patricio Sabbatini. Crane operator, Raw Material Department.

“Besides being entertaining, it supported the theory and prepared us for the practice,” Yamil Torres. Crane operator - Raw Material Department.

“They showed us different work forms and other crane types (grantry cranes, with remote control, and jib cranes.) It was like a completely new world,” Luis Acuña. Crane operator and annealing leader.

We keep innovating to train our teams and work with more security.
