Ternium has developed an initiative to support the work of the company's maintenance outages. The Toolshop Truck is a solution that provides more convenience, improving employee efficiency and safety at the Ternium Industrial Center. During maintenance outages, which are critical to assure full operation of the equipment and to make sure that the work is carried out safely and with quality, the vehicle is parked in strategic locations and has modern software to facilitate employees' access to the right tools for their duties.

Todo el control de entrada y salida de las herramientas del camión se realiza mediante un sistema de gestión actualizado en tiempo real así que es posible incluso saber, por ejemplo, si la herramienta se entrega en otro turno, quién la entregó y cuándo. Además de varios tipos de herramientas, el camión también cuenta con un punto de hidratación y con un protector solar para atender mejor a los colaboradores en la actividad.
Según Rafael Dias, Coordinador de Ingeniería de Ejecución del Pool de Ternium Brasil, el camión está siempre estacionado en lugares estratégicos según el mapa de paradas, donde la disponibilidad de herramientas está optimizada para los colaboradores: “Si el colaborador está en Puerto, por ejemplo, sin una herramienta necesaria para un servicio, tendría que recorrer más de 5 km para encontrarla. Con el camión ubicado en el Puerto, este problema se resuelve fácilmente”.

For Ternium Brazil's Workplace Safety Technician Monique Oliveira, in addition to all the benefits, the Toolshop Truck contributes to ensuring the safety of employees in the transport of the tools to the areas and in their use to perform a repair. “This resource is instrumental to proceed in the best possible way with the transport, accommodation, and delivery of tools, reducing the possibilities of exposure to accident hazards and protecting the physical integrity of each professional,” she concluded.
