From Slitter Operator to Logistics Coordinator: Hajji’s 20 Year Journey with Ternium Steel

Share

Hajji’s dedication and hard work have made him a valuable asset to Ternium and a great example of career growth within the industry.

Hajji Salaam, born and raised in Oakland, California, has had a successful career with Ternium, a leading company in the steel industry. Hajji attended Laney College in Oakland where he studied video production. But in October of 2002, he applied to Steelscape and was hired as a slitter operator at their Richmond, CA facility. This Steelscape facility later moved to Shreveport and became eventually Ternium.

Over the next 20 years, Hajji proved himself to be a dedicated and hard-working employee, taking on various roles within the company and working his way up to become a respected logistics coordinator in Shreveport, Louisiana. From operating cranes, forklifts and railcars, to supervising the material handling department and finally, taking on the role as logistics dispatcher/coordinator, Hajji’s journey with Ternium has been one of growth and opportunity.

Hajji is proud of his accomplishments and looks forward to another 20 more years with Ternium. He feels that the company has provided him with the opportunity to grow and learn and that it had become an important part of his life. His story serves as an inspiration for those who are looking to build a successful career in the steel industry.
