Roberto Rocca Scholarships prize excellency in Colombia.

Share

In November, two Roberto Rocca Scholarships were delivered to students of the Autonomous University of Manizales, with which Ternium continues strengthening education in communities where it operates.

Ever since this educational program started being implemented in Colombia, Ternium has delivered over 120 Roberto Rocca scholarships for engineering and applied sciences students in different educational institutions in the country.

“It's very important for this process to participate with other persons equally good, it is very gratifying to have this knowledge, because this will open many doors for us”, said Mariana Henao Cardona, student of the seventh semester of Industrial Engineering.

Beneficiaries of Roberto Rocca scholarships in the country are students of the last semesters for engineering in several matters like mechanical, physical, industrial, chemical, electronic, electric engineering, which got this economic incentive due to their excellent academic performance.

Yesid Forero, Coordinator of Industrial Engineering of the Autonomous University of Manizales highlighted that “Ternium and the university have had a solid bond since long ago, and I feel proud that their doors have always been open for the institution. It's also pleasant to know that the company not only has a role of production for their wellbeing and development, but also that they think of the community surrounding them, and they become present every time it’s necessary.”

We support education as an organization, since it's a fundamental cornerstone for developing our society, and this is a factor that will allow you the freedom of choosing and deciding on your future. The idea is for this to become a virtuous cycle, so that every time more and more young people get to know the program, and wish to access this kind of incentives. This will make this talent be at service of the community in the future,” says Martín Ceballos, International Human Resources Director at Ternium.

“I feel very happy to receive this incentive, beyond the scholarship, it's a pride to be part of the Roberto Rocca scholarship recipients. It’s pleasant to know that in Ternium they believe in us young people, in what we’re doing, and in that, we can bring this country forward,” said Yarleydy Escarpetta Yate, student of the seventh semester in Industrial Engineering.

Scholarships are granted based on the academic and professional performance of the student, their leadership potential, and their commitment to the economic and industrial advance of their country of origin.
