On August 28th, the Scholarship for Achievements Ceremony, by Ternium Foundation and the Department of Education in Nuevo Leon, took place; during this event, we gave scholarships to the 40 most outstanding Jr. High students from the municipality of Pesqueria.

“At Ternium, we are sure that education is the right road where they will find new and better opportunities for their personal and professional life. Keep preparing, never stop dreaming and looking for options to achieve your goals”, said Manuel Hector Martinez, director of Human Resources at Ternium during the virtual ceremony due to COVID-19

The Scholarships for Achievements that Ternium offers recognize high-performance students from Jr. High schools. To apply, the students need to be in the second or third grade (7-8 in the US equivalent) of Jr. High, have an average superior to 8.5, good conduct, without having failed any school period, and without any pending subjects.

“We thank this synergy with Ternium Foundation, with this company that thinks big when dealing with the educational area. Thanks for making these educational projects possible, which are more of a life project for these young people,” said Maria de Los Angeles Errisuriz Alarcon, ministry of the Department of Education in the state of Nuevo Leon.

As part of the event, some students thanked Ternium for their support, which helps them to buy school materials, pay for transport, or for any other thing the teens might need.

“Thanks for the scholarship; it is an economic opportunity that also motivates me as well as my other classmates to keep trying. When you have a responsibility in the academic area, you can achieve anything,” expressed Fany Areli Cruz, from the Antonio Coello State Jr. High #1.
