Ternium investment plan in technical schools of San Nicolas and Ramallo

Share

As part of the Technical Gen Program, carried out by the company with the help of Agustin and Enrique Rocca Brothers Foundation, an ambitious infrastructure construction and equipment plan is set in motion in order to strengthen the technical education in the San Nicolas and Ramallo communities, with a total investment of 3.5 million dollars.

This will be the interior of the gym at the TS N°6 in San Nicolas, Argentina.

Aiming to improve the formation and development spaces for technical schools, the Robotics Lab in the Technical School N°6 (263 square yards divided into 2 rooms, a workplace, and departments) was inaugurated, which was equipped with state-of-the-art technology and gave this school in San Nicolas the honor of having the best equipped and updated robotics lab as part of the public education facilities of the country. The construction plan was followed by the complete renovation of the Technical School N°3 “Juan Bautista Alberdi” spaces, including the ceiling reparation of the classrooms, restrooms, galleries, administrative office, and hall. The building was completely painted too, aluminum enclosures were built, the furniture of the classrooms and other areas was replaced, among other renovations that improved the value of the institution.

The plan continued with more infrastructure and equipment renovations that organize schools of the region hierarchically and give the students better spaces to learn. “For us, supporting the growth of educational quality of the schools in the region is essential. We found a lot of cooperation in the educational aspect. It’s a great example of a positive public-private organization”, mentions Martín Berardi, CEO of Ternium Argentina.

Probably the most prominent construction at the Technical School N°6 of San Nicolas is the Gym/multi-purpose room with a surface of 1854 yd2.

3 technological classrooms are being built at the Technical School N°1 of Villa Ramallo: With a 420 yd2 surface, they are equipped with computers and appropriate furniture. In addition, an electrical re-installation at the institution is in process.

In the Technical School of N°2 of San Nicolas, the workshop ceilings were repaired as the membranes were changed and waterproofing was applied. A second floor is getting built too, a 542 yd2 surface for the IT, technical drawing, and CAD labs, all of them fully equipped.

Construction at the Fray Luis Beltrán Institute contemplates the courtyard roof (620 yd2) and a virtual welding classroom with 10 welding simulation equipment that will be helpful for the students to practice safely.

More than a 598 yd2 roof cover for the Fray Luis Beltrán Institute and virtual classroom.

And, as technology and virtual education are here to stay, four technological classrooms will be inaugurated at the school N°1 of Ramallo, and N°2, N°6 and Fray Luis Beltrán of San Nicolas. Each classroom will have 40 laptops, an interactive whiteboard, audio and video equipment for conferences, and full connectivity.

Lastly, the Technical Gen infrastructure plan contemplates a learning space with high-end technology (FESTO equipment) that will be installed at the National Technological University, San Nicolas, with which Ternium has an alliance, so that the students of the schools previously mentioned, as well as the students of the University, are able to practice in stations and panels of the pneumatics field with components and associated simulation software allowing the FESTO certification.

“The construction was expected for the upcoming years, but we decided to speed the process so that the students of our communities have renewed spaces that are adapted to the new needs of their context. Even though we had been working along with the educational system, this is an unprecedented plan due to the extent of the investment and the amount of construction works being built at the same time in five schools of the community”, concludes Fernando Favaro, Manager of Community Relations of Ternium Argentina.
