Ternium provides more technology to Technical School No.1 in Ramallo, Argentina

Within the framework of the Technical Gene Program that Ternium develops since 2006 together with the technical schools of San Nicolás and Ramallo, this Friday, the new technological classrooms in Technical School No.1 in Villa Ramallo were inaugurated. It's a 350 square meter site, composed of 3 classrooms, totally equipped for the teaching of Robotics and Industrial Automation, Initial Robotics and Digitalized Design.

The inaugural act had company authorities and Education Department authorities present.

Besides the infrastructure works, this project involved also the donation of

  • Full furniture (chairs, tables, benches, wardrobes)
  • An IRB-1100 Robot from the ABB brand
  • 15 kits of initial robotics, RobotGroup brand
  • 3 kits for LEGO brand Robotics.
  • Equipment for electronics teaching (oscilloscopes, clamp meter, multimeters, welders, variable feeding sources, PLCs, modules, panels, among others).
  • 20 computers prepared for design
  • 3 Projectors.
  • 4 3D Printers.
  • Renewal of electrical installation and illumination of the whole nucleus of classrooms in the school.

The robotic ABB arm is a modern instrument which positions this technical schools among the best equipped in the region

This contribution continues with the construction of a 150 square meter workplace and its equipment, the renewal of school restrooms, and the total renewal of electrical installations in the workshops. This is currently under work and shall be ready at the start of the next school term.

All this investment was possible thanks to the contribution undertaken by the Hermanos Agustín y Enrique Rocca Foundation for a total of $90,627,300 (ninety million, six hundred twenty-seven thousand, three hundred pesos) managed by Ternium Argentina.

Ternium seeks to accompany with technology, the digital transformation of education.

These works are part of the Infrastructure and Equipment Working Plan to strengthen technical education being undertaken by Ternium in the region and which includes the Technical School No. 6, Technical School No. 3 “Juan Bautista Alberdi”, Technical School No.2 and the Instituto Fray Luis Beltrán of San Nicolás and the Technical School No.1 at Ramallo with a total investment of 3 and a half million dollars.
