Ternium gives virtual training to 500 constructors

Share

Ternium organized a virtual training course with the help of the Commission of Industry, Commerce, and Services from the Guatemalan Chamber of Construction and counted with more than five hundred trainees among construction workers, technicians, and professionals of the area.

Social distancing imposed by the preventive measures of Covid-19 was of no inconvenience for more than 500 people, among them technicians and professionals, to participate in the virtual exposition of products, best practices, installation practices, and handling recommendations.

Ternium’s chief in Quality, Ribelino Santos, showed the contents related to enameled sheets as part of the webinar. “Good practices in supervision and installation of roofs.”

The class that the Commission of Industry, Commerce, and Services (ICS) of the Guatemalan Construction Chamber (CGC) organizes was initially held in person, however, without pausing because of the health crisis, the effort of making workforce professional in the country kept on going via the Internet.

The chief of Quality in Ternium considered that the platform used for massive training has, in this context, a high novelty impact for the construction sector, especially for people that are away from the city and that, due to the movement restrictions held in the country, could find a way to access knowledge without leaving home. “Technological tools such as video conferences allow us to keep moving forward by offering training from anywhere, minimizing risk and maintaining costs efficiently,” he concluded.

Gerson Chavarria, the coordinator of the ICS commission, expressed that, from now on, due to the good response and interest from the working force in Guatemala, they are thinking of moving in person contents to the digital platform; produce videos related to best practices in construction, material handling from companies like Ternium, as well as enabling a platform with virtual courses where the person can automatically grade him or herself.

“This is a great contribution to the construction field, to continue with the commitment of formalization and professionalism of manpower in our country; but it is also a commitment with companies like Ternium, who are known for encouraging the regulation of materials and their legal distribution,” said the CGC representative.
