Company donations continue in response to the COVID-19 health emergency.
In early October, Ternium donated three 9.5 cubic meter medical oxygen cylinders, three humidifiers, three nasal cannulas, and three P / O2 medical regulators in the municipalities of Pihuamo and Tecatitlán in Jalisco, respectively.
"For Ternium, it is very satisfactory to be able to support the communities where we have a presence and more with this medical material so requested nowadays, which helps save the lives of COVID-19 patients in this region," said Carlos Ramírez, analyst of Relations to the Ternium community in Minas during the donation of this equipment.
In Jalisco alone, more than 5,400 USD have been donated in biosafety and medical supplies during 2020 and 2021. And in the three states that make up the mining area (Jalisco, Colima, and Michoacán), more than 290,000 dollars have been delivered, including medical equipment and biosafety kits to fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
"I thank the company for responding to my request, since these oxygen tanks will help patients with COVID-19 and the more than 220 patients a week we assist in the first Medical Services Unit of the municipality and the region," mentioned Martín Larios at the event, who is the mayor of Tecalitlán, Jalisco.
For his part, Humberto Amezcua, mayor of Pihuamo, Jalisco, thanked the donation along with his work team.
“I consider health to be a priority in this administration, for which I am especially grateful to Ternium. This equipment will be used by patients who are transferred to the second level of care and during the transfer require respiratory support, and patients are taken care of at home who need oxygenation, which go from 8 to 15 people per month,” he said.
