In 2025, Ternium invested $93 million in environmental, decarbonization, and energy-efficiency iniciatives, as well as $102 million in health and safety programs. The company also benefited more than 15,500 people through its educational initiatives. Learn about the key results featured in our latest Sustainability Report, reflecting the work we do every day to build a more sustainable steel industry.
Ternium made significant progress on its sustainability strategy through major investments—such as Phase 3 of Ternium’s Industrial Center in Pesquería—and by integrating technology and responsible practices throughout its operations. These achievements are detailed in the Sustainability Report 2025, which highlights the company’s environmental, social, and economic initiatives, as well as the governance structures and mechanisms that guide its operations.
"It was a year of meaningful execution across our long-term agenda. The initiatives included in this report reflect our commitment to building a stronger, more sustainable Ternium —one that creates lasting value for our customers, our people, and the communities where we operate," says Máximo Vedoya, CEO of Ternium, in the opening of the report.
The report gathers data, indicators, projects, targets, and progress updates that help explain the company. It is a valuable resource for understanding the business and accessing key information about our operations. Here is a thematic overview of the report's main highlights.
What’s New in This Edition?
The report introduces three tools that provide a deeper understanding of Ternium’s evolution:
- A timeline featuring key environmental, social, and governance (ESG) milestones since Ternium began trading on the New York Stock Exchange in 2006 (see page 12).
- An infographic detailing the positive environmental and community impact of the Ternium Industrial Center in Pesquería, Mexico (see page 14).
- A diagram of Ternium’s industrial system, providing an overview of our main processes and products, including the integration of Usiminas and the commissioning of the new steel shop in Pesquería (see page 126).
Stage 3 of the Ternium Industrial Center in Pesquería is the largest investment in the company's history.

How Is Ternium Advancing in Decarbonization and Energy Efficiency?
Projects within our decarbonization roadmap continued to move forward, supported by new investments aimed at reducing emissions intensity throughout our value chain.
A key development this year was the inclusion of Usiminas in our decarbonization target, with the baseline year updated to 2024. Ternium now aims to reduce emissions intensity per equivalent hot-rolled steel ton by 15% by 2030, compared to the 2024 baseline, including Scope 1, Scope 2, and Scope 3 emissions (Categories 1 and 10), as measured under the Greenhouse Gas Protocol (GHG Protocol).
During 2025, Ternium invested $35 million in decarbonization and energy-efficiency initiatives—excluding investments related to the Ternium Industrial Center in Pesquería—along with additional strategic investments across its facilities.
Wondering How the Ternium Industrial Center in Pesquería Is Progressing?
The Ternium Industrial Center in Pesquería continues to play a central role in the company’s industrial evolution. In 2025, the downstream project was completed and substantial progress was made on the construction of the new steel shop, which will enable the production of 2.6 million tons of steel annually with lower emissions intensity. By the end of 2025, the industrial center employed 2,200 direct employees and counted 7,700 contractors working on-site.
By the end of 2025, nearly 10,000 people were participating in the construction of the steel mill.
How Do We Protect the Environment Across Our Operations?
As part of Ternium’s 2020–2030 Environmental Plan, projects focused on environmental monitoring, operational efficiency, and responsible water management continued to advance.
In addition to annual investments in decarbonization and energy efficiency, Ternium allocated $58 million to environmental projects in 2025. Between 2020 and 2025, important initiatives were implemented across various operations, including: increase in dust collection capacity at the San Nicolás steel shop in Argentina, the implementation of an Automatic Fugitive Particulate Emissions Monitoring Network (RAMP) in Brazil, enabling the real-time identification of potential wind-driven emissions through continuous measurements and meteorological variables; the installation of air-quality monitoring technology at the Guerrero facility in Mexico and surrounding areas, allowing for advanced data analysis and real-time reporting.
How Does Ternium Promote Safety Across Its Operations?
A total of $102 million was invested in health and safety programs during the year, with the incorporation of new technologies to strengthen the protection of people, such as video analytics, drones for inspections, remote support for maintenance activities, high-risk scenario simulations, and virtual-reality training programs for employees.
Implementation of drones to strengthen preventive tasks.
During 2025, more than 27,000 employees and contractors, including those from Usiminas, received an average of 18 hours of training focused on Ternium’s Occupational Health and Safety programs and preventive measures.
How Does Ternium Support Sustainable Community Development?
Ternium’s community impact also grew significantly in 2025, with $51 million invested in community programs through a combination of direct company contributions and donations from affiliated foundations. This represents more than four times the $12 million invested in these initiatives in 2024. In addition, more than 1,300 scholarships were awarded through the Roberto Rocca Scholarship Program, helping students continue their education.
Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva participated in the inauguration ceremony of the Roberto Rocca Technical School in Santa Cruz.
The Roberto Rocca Technical Schools remain a cornerstone of this commitment, expanding their reach and strengthening the education of future generations. In Santa Cruz, the school celebrated its first year of operation , while in Pesquería, the school began welcoming middle school students in 2025.
