From the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, Ternium entered into a partnership with Rio de Janeiro’s City Hall and has undertaken to support the healthcare network of the lower part of Rio de Janeiro. Among the efforts undertaken, the investment reaches BRL 8.5 million. The initiative was divided by the donation of rapid tests, equipment, and the structural renovation of the Ernani de Paiva Ferreira Braga Family Clinic in Santa Cruz.
The renovation works at the Family Clinic are an important part of the initiative. This project is founded on a BRL 2.5 million commitment, which is intended to be completed in the second half of 2021, following the strategy outlined by the public power. From the start of the works in March, there has been an improvement of the building facilities, which operate as a primary healthcare unit and has the capacity to provide 6,300 appointments per month to the West Zone.
Ternium President, Marcelo Chara, was recently at the works site to take a closer look at the progress of the renovation and commented on the importance of this work: “This is a great opportunity for us to support the main axes of integration with the community – health, education, and culture. Helping to rebuild the Family Clinic is very significant to us”, he highlighted.
