Share

Another school in Nuevo León will see its areas renewed and improved in order to assist thousands of children and teenagers.

Ternium, through the Volunteers in Action program among the initiative of Apadrina Una Escuela by Katcon, and in alliance with Comunidar, will restore the elementary school Arnulfa Pérez Pérez, located in the municipality of San Nicolás de los Garza.

This is the thirteenth edition of Volunteers in Action in Nuevo León, which started in 2014; so far, more than 1,700 volunteers have participated in the improvement of school areas, in behalf of more than 2,000 students.

Work for this new edition started in October 7th with the appearance of Máximo Vedoya, Ternium CEO, and Samuel García, governor of Nuevo León.

Painting classrooms is part of the work.

“For us in Ternium, education is the priority in our social responsibility programs”, said Vedoya, “we believe in education and that such is the way a society can move forward. You can count on Ternium to keep supporting education and growth in Nuevo León.”

Samuel García acknowledged the work of society, businesses and authorities to improve school areas. “Thank you so much to Ternium for collaborating and launching such an important event like this where the whole country can witness the permanent alliance of society and government in Nuevo León”, he said.

The school’s renovation includes painting the forum’s ceiling and schoolyard, ramps construction, guardrails installation, windows and water fountains fixing, as well the placement of fans, boards and computers.
